Prof. Yandong Gong, Beijing Information Science and Technology University, ChinaYandong Gong received the Ph.D. degree from Beijing Jiaotong University, China, in 1998. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 2000 to 2002. Later, he joined the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore. Since 2019, he has been with Beijing Information Science and Technology University as a Full Professor. He has authored or coauthored more than 200 papers on reputable international journals and conferences. His current research areas include fiber-optic sensors and terahertz technology. Speech Title: Polarization Test in Terahertz Spectroscopy Abstract: Terahertz wave has many potential applications, and polarization is a very important electromagnetic property of them. To test THz polarization in a Terahertz Spectroscopy system, we have comprehensively investigated achromatic Terahertz polarization waveplates and Polarimetric Terahertz Spectroscopy systems. Besides conventional parameters, this polarization test system will be able to automatically measure the State of Polarization of THz waves and all the additional polarization - related information of samples across the entire THz band. Such a system will be a powerful sensing tool for exploring new Terahertz applications. |
